È un Rally Terra Sarda da grandi firme:
l’Ogliastra pronta ad accogliere le “stelle” del rallismo internazionale
L’appuntamento, organizzato da Porto Cervo Racing ed in programma nel fine settimana, chiamerà sulla pedana di partenza sessantuno vetture, al centro del confronto moderno e storico.
La gara, oltre ad essere valida per il TER Series, per il TER – Tour European Rally e per il TER – Historic, sarà decisiva per le sorti della Coppa Rally di Zona 10.
Tortolì (NU) – Il Rally Terra Sarda è pronto ad accendere la passione del pubblico ed i motori delle sue vetture protagoniste. La gara, organizzata da Porto Cervo Racing ed in programma sabato 18 e domenica 19 ottobre sulle strade della provincia dell’Ogliastra, sarà valida per il TER Series, per il TER – Tour European Rally, per il TER – Historic e come ultimo atto della Coppa Rally di Zona 10. A brillare, nell’elenco iscritti ufficializzato dal sodalizio smeraldino, sono le “stelle” Hayden Paddon ed Emil Lindholm, piloti che – già in precedenza – avevano a più riprese confermato la loro presenza sull’isola.
Sessantuno, le vetture che prenderanno il “via” da Tortolì: con il numero uno sulle fiancate della sua Hyundai i20 N si presenterà sulla pedana di partenza il neozelandese Hayden Paddon, già vincitore del confronto nella stagione 2022. Il vincitore del FIA European Rally Championship 2024 si contenderà il vertice della classifica con il finlandese Emil Lindholm. Il driver, tra i grandi interpreti del WRC-2 – contesto che lo ha elevato campione nel 2022 – avrà a disposizione una Skoda Fabia RS, esemplare che lo chiamerà al confronto con i driver “di casa nostra”, tutti di prima fascia e con altri competitor provenienti dall’estero. Alla risposta di Porto Cervo Racing hanno risposto “presente” anche il francese Jean Joseph Galeani, presenza di prestigio nel TER Series ed atteso su una Hyundai i20 N Rally2, il lettone Gints Celays – in corsa per il titolo TER – i croati Karlo Pelicar e Rajan Gasparini, entrambi su Renault Clio Rally5, il rumeno Ciprian Lupu, pilota con disabilità atteso anch’egli su una Renault Clio Rally5.
Un mix di agonismo e spettacolarità, con gli interpreti del panorama internazionale che incontreranno le ambizioni dei driver locali, attesi all’ultimo atto della Coppa Rally di Zona 10. Cercheranno un ruolo di primo piano Andrea Pisano – leader nella classifica della serie regionale – Marino Gessa, vincitore della Coppa Rally di Zona 10 nel 2024 e Auro Siddi, vincitore sulla scena regionale nel 2023, tutti su Skoda Fabia. La classe regina, la “Rally2”, vedrà al via anche Roberto Cocco, Ronnie Caragliu, Sandro Locci, Alessandro Cadelano e Francesco Farci. Nel panorama a trazione integrale, riflettori puntati su Valentino Ledda, al centro di un percorso di crescita articolato sull’espressione della Renault Clio Rally3 ed orientato anche in ambito internazionale, sulle strade finlandesi.
IL PROGRAMMA
Agonismo e grandi eventi in Ogliastra da giovedì.
I riflettori del motorsport internazionale punteranno su Tortolì da giovedì 16 ottobre, con l’apertura del Villaggio Mirtó Sardegna. Via Monsignor Virgilio ospiterà la struttura accogliendo equipaggi partecipanti ed appassionati nel corso delle attività proposte, iniziative che faranno ancora leva su tradizione culturale, enogastronomica e sulla solidarietà. Confermati i punti cardine che hanno reso celebre il Rally Terra Sarda nelle sue dodici precedenti edizioni, come lo spettacolare Cooking Show, quest’anno arricchito dalle attività offerte dagli artigiani sardi che – nella giornata di venerdì – chiamerà a raccolta i portacolori delle nazioni coinvolte dal TER Series, pronte a sfidarsi in cucina attraverso i propri rappresentanti. Tortolì ed il Villaggio Rally Mirtó Sardegna faranno da cornice anche alla presentazione degli equipaggi partecipanti al 13° Rally Terra Sarda ed al 5° Rally Terra Sarda Storico, prevista alle ore 18 in Viale Monsignor Virgilio, location che accoglierà anche i paddock del parco assistenza. L’indomani, sabato 18 ottobre, gli equipaggi saranno coinvolti dalle ultime ore disponibili di verifica sportiva e tecnica e dall’effettuazione dello shakedown, il test con vetture da gara, in programma dalle ore 8:00 alle ore 11:30 sul tratto “Bari Sardo – Teccu”.
La bandiera tricolore – emblema della partenza della gara – sventolerà sulla prima vettura alle ore 14:00, in Via Monsignor Virgilio. Da lì i protagonisti si dirigeranno verso la prima prova speciale, “I Centenari – Ottica Filar” di 11,13 km, in programma dalle ore 14:39. Dopo aver salutato Baunei, teatro di un controllo a timbro, le vetture saranno chiamate al secondo impegno con il cronometro, sui 5,13 km della “Selvaggio Blu – Grimaldi Lines”, prevista per le ore 15:35. Girasole e la sua Via Venezia accoglieranno le vetture per il primo riordinamento della manifestazione, che si protrarrà per venti minuti a partire dalle ore 15:54. Alle ore 16:25 la prima vettura dell’elenco partenti farà ritorno a Tortolì, per il primo parco assistenza. Le squadre avranno a disposizione trenta minuti per poter esprimere le strategie di gara dal punto di vista tecnico, assecondando le richieste degli equipaggi in vista della prova che manderà in archivio il primo giorno di gara, la “I Centenari – Ottica Filar” delle ore 17:37. Prima di calcare la pedana di arrivo della prima tappa (a Tortolì, dalle ore 18:45), le vetture faranno tappa ad Urzulei, in Piazza Fontana (ore 18:11), procedendo successivamente verso Viale Monsignor Virgilio, a Tortolì, con Piazza Rinascita pronta ad ospitare le vetture moderne e storiche nella fase di riordinamento notturno.
Domenica 19 ottobre, alle ore 9:03, gli interpreti del doppio confronto avranno a disposizione trenta minuti di parco assistenza, fase che anticiperà gli ultimi tratti cronometrati in programma, “Uliveti d’Ogliastra – Gimar” di 12,92 km e “I Ciliegi – Ulestri” di 9,82 km, entrambi da ripetere per due volte. Tra i quattro passaggi – dopo la “I Ciliegi – Ulestri” delle ore 10:42 – è prevista una fase di riordinamento a Tortolì della durata di venti minuti ed un’ultima sessione di parco assistenza, alle 11:58. La gara andrà quindi in archivio con l’effettuazione della “Uliveti d’Ogliastra – Gimar” alle ore 12:53 e della “I Ciliegi – Ulestri”, con lo start previsto alle ore 13:37. Il controllo a timbro in programma a Barisardo anticiperà la cerimonia d’arrivo, in Viale Monsignor Virgilio a Tortolì, alle ore 14:30.
A festeggiare, lo scorso anno, fu il monegasco Alberto Roveta, vincitore su Skoda Fabia RS. Alle sue spalle, sul podio, si elevarono Marino Gessa e Loris Ronzano, entrambi su Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo.
The Rally Terra Sarda Features Top Names: Ogliastra Ready to Welcome International Rallying ‘Stars’
The event, organized by Porto Cervo Racing and scheduled for this weekend, will see sixty-one cars at the start podium for the modern and historic double-header.
The race, in addition to being valid for the TER Series, the TER – Tour European Rally, and the TER – Historic, will be decisive for the Coppa Rally di Zona 10 championship.
Tortolì (NU) – The Rally Terra Sarda is ready to ignite the passion of the public and the engines of its featured cars. The race, organized by Porto Cervo Racing and scheduled for Saturday, October 18th, and Sunday, October 19th, on the roads of the Ogliastra province, will be valid for the TER Series, the TER – Tour European Rally, the TER – Historic, and will serve as the final round of the Coppa Rally di Zona 10. Shining brightest on the entry list, officially released by the Smeraldino club, are the “stars” Hayden Paddon and Emil Lindholm, drivers who had previously confirmed their presence on the island multiple times.
Sixty-one cars will take the “start” from Tortolì. Wearing the number one on the side of his Hyundai i20 N, New Zealander Hayden Paddon, the winner of the event in the 2022 season, will be at the start podium. The winner of the 2024 FIA European Rally Championship will vie for the top of the standings with Finland’s Emil Lindholm. The driver, one of the great competitors in the WRC-2—a context that saw him crowned champion in 2022—will be driving a Skoda Fabia RS, a car that will pit him against top-tier local drivers and other international competitors.
Responding “present” to Porto Cervo Racing’s call are also Frenchman Jean Joseph Galeani, a prestigious presence in the TER Series expected in a Hyundai i20 N Rally2, Latvian Gints Celays—in the running for the TER title—Croatians Karlo Pelicar and Rajan Gasparini, both in Renault Clio Rally5s, and Romanian Ciprian Lupu, a disabled driver also expected in a Renault Clio Rally5.
A mix of competition and spectacle, with international names meeting the ambitions of local drivers, who are eagerly anticipating the final act of the Coppa Rally di Zona 10. Andrea Pisano—the regional series leader—Marino Gessa, the 2024 Coppa Rally di Zona 10 winner, and Auro Siddi, the 2023 regional winner, will all be aiming for a top role, all driving Skoda Fabias. The premier “Rally2” class will also feature Roberto Cocco, Ronnie Caragliu, Sandro Locci, Alessandro Cadelano, and Francesco Farci. In the four-wheel-drive scene, the spotlight is on Valentino Ledda, who is pursuing a growth path based on the Renault Clio Rally3, which includes international experience on Finnish roads.
THE PROGRAM
Competition and major events in Ogliastra starting Thursday.
The international motorsport spotlight will turn to Tortolì starting Thursday, October 16th, with the opening of the Mirtó Sardegna Village. Via Monsignor Virgilio will host the structure, welcoming participating crews and enthusiasts during the proposed activities—initiatives that will once again focus on cultural tradition, food and wine, and solidarity. The key features that made the Rally Terra Sarda famous in its twelve previous editions are confirmed, such as the spectacular Cooking Show, this year enhanced by activities offered by Sardinian artisans. On Friday, the Cooking Show will gather representatives from the nations involved in the TER Series, ready to challenge each other in the kitchen.
Tortolì and the Rally Mirtó Sardegna Village will also provide the backdrop for the presentation of the participating crews of the 13th Rally Terra Sarda and the 5th Historic Rally Terra Sarda, scheduled for 6:00 PM in Viale Monsignor Virgilio, the location that will also host the service park paddocks. The following day, Saturday, October 18th, crews will be involved in the final hours available for scrutineering and administrative checks, and the shakedown—the test with race cars—scheduled from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM on the “Bari Sardo – Teccu” section.
The Italian flag—emblematic of the race start—will wave over the first car at 2:00 PM in Via Monsignor Virgilio. From there, the protagonists will head towards the first special stage, “I Centenari – Ottica Filar” (11.13 km), scheduled for 2:39 PM. After checking in at Baunei, the cars will tackle the second timed commitment, the 5.13 km “Selvaggio Blu – Grimaldi Lines,” scheduled for 3:35 PM. Girasole and its Via Venezia will welcome the cars for the event’s first twenty-minute regrouping starting at 3:54 PM. At 4:25 PM, the first car will return to Tortolì for the first service park. Teams will have thirty minutes to implement technical strategies, addressing crew requests ahead of the stage that will conclude the first day of the race, the “I Centenari – Ottica Filar” at 5:37 PM. Before reaching the finish podium of the first leg (in Tortolì, starting at 6:45 PM), the cars will stop in Urzulei, in Piazza Fontana (6:11 PM), then proceed to Viale Monsignor Virgilio, in Tortolì, with Piazza Rinascita ready to host the modern and historic cars for the overnight regrouping phase.
On Sunday, October 19th, at 9:03 AM, the crews will have thirty minutes of service time, a phase that precedes the final timed sections: “Uliveti d’Ogliastra – Gimar” (12.92 km) and “I Ciliegi – Ulestri” (9.82 km), both to be repeated twice. Between the two loops—after the “I Ciliegi – Ulestri” at 10:42 AM—there will be a twenty-minute regrouping in Tortolì and a final service session at 11:58 AM. The race will then conclude with the running of the “Uliveti d’Ogliastra – Gimar” at 12:53 PM and the “I Ciliegi – Ulestri,” scheduled to start at 1:37 PM. A time control in Barisardo will precede the finish ceremony in Viale Monsignor Virgilio in Tortolì at 2:30 PM.
Last year’s winner was Monegasque Alberto Roveta in a Skoda Fabia RS. Completing the podium behind him were Marino Gessa and Loris Ronzano, both in Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evos.
